I Gift You Peace: Planning Ahead for Yourself and the People Who Matter Most
Coming Soon
"Planning ahead isn't about preparing for death. It's about making life easier for yourself and the people who matter most."
The book uses conversations about values, preferences, and future planning as a way to explore something much larger: how thoughtful preparation can reduce unnecessary suffering and become one of the greatest acts of love we offer ourselves and the people we love.
This book was shaped by years of watching families, including my own, struggle with these conversations, and by my own experience navigating two family estates, caregiving through Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, and blended-family trust planning. One moment made it personal in a new way: my then-fiancé, now husband, once had to make an unexpected medical decision on my behalf. It showed me that planning preserves your voice and gives the people you trust clear direction, even when you can't speak for yourself. Experience after experience convinced me that this work belongs to everyone, not just people facing illness or old age. I want to help people replace fear, confusion, and guesswork with clarity, preparation, and peace.
This is an evidence-informed, relationship-centered guide to the health, caregiving, financial, funeral, and legacy decisions others may one day have to make on our behalf. Through thoughtful conversations and practical planning, it helps readers prepare people, not just documents.
The result: less uncertainty, less conflict, less guilt, and fewer avoidable burdens. Planning ahead brings you peace today and gives those who matter most peace tomorrow.
